At our core, we are guided by compassion, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to social responsibility, equality and growth.

A family-fueled mission to transform lives.

To serve the changing needs of society.

PJs Community Service is a family run Social Enterprise headed by Husband & Wife team Patrick Reid & Claudine Reid MBE.

As a social enterprise, we are propelled by a deep-seated mission to address the evolving needs of society. Our approach is holistic, focusing on well-being and development in personal, professional, and enterprise spheres.

As a family business rooted in the African/Caribbean community, we take pride in being a black-owned enterprise that has significantly impacted local communities. Our story is one of resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to social transformation.

It all started in 1992...

In 1992, Patrick Reid's single act of kindness towards his mother, who struggled with arthritis, ignited a compassionate and empowering journey. As he watched her struggle with grocery shopping, an idea sparked, igniting a flame that would illuminate the lives of countless individuals.

From these humble beginnings, PJs Group emerged as a beacon of hope, offering a lifeline to those in need.

Since then, Claudine & Patrick Reid have helped thousands of people, from providing care staff, to doing grocery shopping, training social entrepreneurs and providing job opportunities for over 9000 individuals.

PJ's Group's mission and approach are closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focusing on good health and well-being (Goal 3), quality education (Goal 4), reduced inequalities (Goal 10), and sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11).

Yet, social and home care services provide essential support for vulnerable individuals, enabling them to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Providing elderly people with home care reduces their risk of death by up to 14%.

This statistic isn't just a number to us; it represents lives touched, families kept together, and their dignity preserved.

According to the World Health Organization, there will be a global shortage of 18 million healthcare workers by 2030.
Empowering Lives, One Person at a Time

Our mission is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves access to quality care that respects their unique needs. From the comfort of their homes to the broader community, we strive to provide comprehensive care and support. Our services range from personal care and hygiene to 24-hour support, always mindful of cultural and religious needs.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

"Since our partnership the number of exclusions have decreased and we have not permanently excluded a single pupil in the last academic year. Last year we
got the best GCSE results the school has ever achieved (84% 5 A* - C in all subjects) which is due in part to the contribution that PI's have made. We have found that in general pupils who have been to PI's generally return to school with a more positive and mature approach to their studies"
